11th MDS-ES Summer School for Young Neurologists
Dear Prof. Bajenaru,

I would like to bring your attention to the next MDS-ES School for Young Neurologists occurring at my hospital in Copenhagen on June 6-8, 2018.

This School is intended for young neurologists within five years of their completion of general neurological training who wish to learn more about movement disorders, as well as young neurologists who are already enrolled in Movement Disorder training.

Topics will focus on parkinsonism, hyperkinetic disorders and complex issues in movement disorders. The complete course program is available to read on the MDS website as well.

You are encouraged to share this information with anyone who might be interested. Applicants will be notified of their application status in mid-April.

Management of Advanced Parkinson’s Disease with Infusion Therapies
May 26-27, 2017 – Bucharest, Romania

Course Description

This course will provide the theoretical education and practical experience in the management of pump-based treatments for advanced Parkinson’s disease (Levodopa-carbidopa intestinal gel and apomorphine).  The course includes lectures on history, experimental basis, patient selection, effects, side effects and practical management, as well as, interactive workshops on patient selection and practical management.

Recommended Audience

This course is recommended for neurologists, gastroenterologists and Parkinson nurses.

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this activity, participants will be able to accomplish the following:

  • Describe the theoretical evidence supporting CDS-based treatment
  • List criteria and demonstrate process for selecting patients for pump-based PD treatment
  • Describe the effects of pump treatments on motor, non-motor symptoms and quality of life
  • Explain and demonstrate management of pump-based therapies
  • Identify possible side effects and complications of pump therapies, including management of these

The International Parkinson & Movement Disorder Society invites all MDS Members and non-members to submit an abstract for review for the 18th International Congress in Stockholm, Sweden, June 8-12, 2014. Please review the criteria on the MDS website before submitting an abstract:


The abstract submission deadline is Monday, January 6, 2014 at 11:59 PM CST.


A block of rooms have been secured at several hotels in the Stockholm area to accommodate International Congress participants.
